The project led by Alina Quintana — a dancer with a professional career in Cuba and a classical ballet teacher trained in the Vaganova method — continues to grow with the opening of a new studio in Barcelona. After establishing her concept in Milan, this new space marks another step forward in the development of her Danza Clásica No Under 40 method.
Her approach is rooted in an innovative vision: bringing classical ballet closer to mature women through a methodology that is thoughtfully adapted, respectful of the body, and technically structured. Rather than offering a simplified version of the discipline, the method seeks to preserve the essence of classical dance while taking into account the body, the pace of learning, and each student’s life experience.
This vision has shaped a community and a project with a strong identity, also reflected in her book Danza Clásica No Under 40, where she shares the conceptual and emotional foundations of her methodology.

ISA ballet barres at the heart of the practice
The new Barcelona studio, located on Via Laietana, a central avenue connecting the historic city centre with the seafront, has been conceived as a functional and welcoming environment where ballet barres play a central role. The choice of equipment reflects the need for versatile solutions, capable of adapting to different working dynamics and groups of women with diverse profiles.
For this project, Alina Quintana has once again chosen our height-adjustable mobile ISA ballet barres, also used in her Milan studios. Their design allows for flexible studio configurations, facilitating technical work, easy height adjustment, and comfort in group sessions. The overall stability, combined with the precision provided by Melis pine wood, ensures confidence for consistent and safe practice.

Beyond the studio: a community that also comes to life on stage
The Danza Clásica No Under 40 method also extends beyond the classroom through workshops and events designed to offer students a broader experience — one that connects not only to learning, but also to emotion, celebration, and performance.
One such event took place at the Teatro del Popolo in Gallarate, where Alina Quintana brought her students together for an open session that transformed technical work into a shared experience, showcasing the evolution of her community. These initiatives reinforce the idea that classical ballet can become, even later in life, a powerful form of expression, confidence and personal rediscovery.

At Dinamica Ballet, we are proud to be part of projects like Alina Quintana’s — initiatives that bring classical ballet to mature women through a thoughtful, safe and purpose-driven approach. Projects that understand the importance of respecting each student’s body, rhythm and experience, opening the door to a more conscious, personal and expressive way of dancing.
